The Danish sportswear brand hummel and Brøndby IF unveil the club’s new 2025/26 away jersey, created in a unique collaboration with lifelong Brøndby fan and former Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt together with renowned fashion designer Soeren Le Schmidt. A jersey where creativity and unity go hand in hand with respect for the club’s proud traditions.

A new season brings new chapters and new challenges. The 2025/26 season is already well underway, and on away grounds Brøndby IF’s men will now take to the pitch in a jersey that balances innovation with deep respect for the club’s roots.
Created in collaboration with kit partner hummel – and designed by lifelong fan and former Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, together with renowned fashion designer Soeren Le Schmidt – the jersey marks a step in a new direction.
More than a jersey
This away kit is created to be more than just a football shirt. It tells a story of collaboration, creativity, and the courage to stand out – while still honoring the colors and symbols that define Brøndby IF. With the original B.I.F. crest embroidered on the chest, the jersey proudly celebrates the club’s heritage – wherever the team plays.
The away shirt is also a tribute to Brøndby IF’s loyal supporters – to the unwavering passion and relentless energy that fills away sections across the country week after week, month after month, in both triumph and adversity.
From idea to finished design
The journey began back in March 2024, when Helle Thorning-Schmidt embraced the challenge and quickly brought Soeren Le Schmidt along to join her side.
“As a fan, I am both proud and humbled to have had the chance to design a jersey for the Boys from ‘Vestegnen’ together with hummel. I hope it inspires the players to bring home many victories when we play away. I also hope it’s great to play in, and above all, I cross my fingers – and pray – that the fans will welcome it, so that blue and yellow can shine even brighter in the streets and stadiums across the country,” says Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
With his background as a fashion designer, Soeren Le Schmidt translated ideas into sketches and concrete proposals, while also offering a fresh perspective on what a football jersey could look like.
“It has been a fun and exciting task to bring my own take on a new football jersey together with Helle. While we appreciate classic details, we were also driven by the desire to challenge the traditional graphic language of football kits with something more organic. That’s why patterns, stripes, and shapes were replaced with something less defined,” explains Soeren Le Schmidt.
Throughout the process, several players were involved in reviewing details, materials, and functionality, ensuring the design meets both aesthetic and performance demands.
The new away jersey will make its debut in the Danish Superliga on September 21, when Brøndby IF travels to Aarhus. The kit comes in both adult and youth sizes, with short-sleeved and long-sleeved versions available.
