Huckberry has named Todd Spaletto, the former global president of The North Face, to its board of directors. He will also serve as an adviser to the Austin-based men’s retailer as senior vice president of strategy.
Most recently, Spaletto was a senior vice president at Dick’s Sporting Goods as well as president of its Public Lands division.
Spaletto has actually been working with Huckberry’s executive leadership team on the company’s three-year strategic plan and annual operating plan.
“Todd’s track record of scaling iconic outdoor and retail brands speaks for itself, but just as importantly, he understands what has made Huckberry special,” said Richard Greiner and Andy Forch, founders and co-chief executive officers of Huckberry. “He brings the exact mix of operational rigor, brand-building wisdom, and grounded perspective we need as we navigate our next chapter of growth.”
“Huckberry has built something genuinely unique in retail — a brand rooted in quality gear, authentic storytelling, and real community,” said Spaletto. “Having worked closely with the team on their strategic planning over the last few months, I’ve seen firsthand the momentum and potential here. I’m excited to work with the team to build on that and help guide the operational scale needed to capture the massive opportunity ahead.”
Greiner and Forch launched Huckberry 15 years ago as a men’s brand centered around adventure. Today it offers apparel, footwear and gear for an active lifestyle online and in two stores in Chicago and Georgetown with a third slated for San Francisco and two others in the works. The company offers a mix of private labels and name brands such as Taylor Stitch, Double RL, Wythe and Relwen.
