Major League Baseball has a new golf apparel sponsor — Redvanly — and the brand outfitted a number of current and retired players for a tournament that will air on TNT Tuesday night.
This week, MLB launched a new offseason event — the Capital One MLB Open at Shadow Creek in North Las Vegas. The event featured a one-day Pro-Am and a two-day competitive tournament with 60 current and retired MLB players including Jimmy Rollins, CC Sabathia, David Wright and three-time Dodgers World Series Champion catcher Will Smith.
The event also served to introduce Redvanly, a New Jersey-based men’s performance and lifestyle brand founded in 2013 by Andrew Redvanly. More than a dozen of the participants in the tournament were dressed by Redvanly. This marked the first deal the brand has signed with a sports league, according to a spokesperson from MLB.
As part of the new licensing deal, an array of MLB club logos will be featured on Redvanly’s polos, quarter-zips and hoodies. That product is expected to launch at retail in January and will be sold online, at the MLB flagship in New York City and at select Redvanly stores.
“Partnering with Major League Baseball marks an exciting new chapter for Redvanly,” said Michael Shakespeare, chief marketing officer for the apparel company. “Our brand was built around performance-driven style and ultimate comfort, and this collaboration allows us to bring that same energy to a new audience. We’re excited to see MLB legends and current stars wearing Redvanly this week at Shadow Creek — and to introduce the collection to fans early next year.”
Redvanly counts a number of professional athletes among its “honorables,” or sponsored players. They include golfers Jhonattan Vegas, who is also sponsored by MLB, Kevin Roy, Thomas Rosenmüller, Taylor Dickson and several others.
