“Knee-high boots can look chic and elevate any outfit,” Ellis explains. “I particularly love wearing them with a dress or skirt, which avoids bare legs. This feels more luxe for a night out, too; a blazer dress and knee-highs are the perfect combo. Always think about your proportions – don’t make everything too tight if skin is on show.”

Pippa is a big fan of teaming jeans with her knee-high boots, and Ellis thinks this is the way to go. “Tucking skinny jeans into the boots elongates the legs, especially with boots and trousers in a similar tone. Dark jeans and dark boots reduce visual breaks. Keep the boots minimal and opt for a block or kitten heel for comfort,” the fashion professional adds.

In 2022, Pippa attended Kate’s Christmas carol service, rocking a chic burgundy coat with a black tie waist, and paired it with a pair of beautiful chocolate brown knee-high boots. Ellis quips: “This season we’re seeing rich colour palettes on shoes such as deep cherry reds and autumnal browns. Adding a muted pop of colour or interesting texture, such as suede or snakeskin, can really help elevate a look. “
