ON BOARD: The Fashion Scholarship Fund is bolstering its board.
The nonprofit organization, which awards scholarships to students pursuing careers in design, merchandising, marketing and business, has appointed five women to its board of governors. They include Paula Fallowfield, chief human resources officer, LVMH Americas; Nina Flood, executive vice president and global brand president, Timberland; Joy Herfel-Cronin, group president, wholesale North America, Ralph Lauren; Toretha McGuire, chief people officer, Fanatics, and Rachna Shah, global chief executive officer, KCD.
The appointees each rose through the ranks to the highest levels of their organizations. And as board members, they will provide career advice, mentorship and internship opportunities to current students, while also supporting the scholars and alumni in the FSF community.
“The FSF Board plays an essential role in connecting our scholars and young alumni with industry leaders, and we deeply value the opportunities these relationships create,” said Peter Arnold, president of the Fashion Scholarship Fund. “We are so pleased to welcome Paula, Nina, Joy, Toretha and Rachna, and are grateful for their commitment to our mission. Each brings a distinct area of expertise and a wealth of professional experience, together with a shared understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in building a successful career in fashion. Their perspectives, leadership and guidance will be invaluable as we continue to expand the support we provide to scholars and alumni as they pursue careers in our industry.”
The Fashion Scholarship Fund was established in 1937 and has provided more than $1.9 million annually to 160 students selected from a network of 75 colleges and universities. Over the years, it has supported more than 3,100 alumni.
