Saturday night’s laughs were over, but the style show had only begun. The “SNL” afterparty in New York City also served as a birthday celebration for Dakota Johnson, who stepped out in a plunging micro minidress that barely skimmed her thighs. A studded velvet coat, sheer mesh heels, and a headline-worthy diamond ring finished the look, and the result was dark, dazzling, and made for the cameras.
Dakota Johnson’s plunging and tiny YSL micro minidress barely graces her thighs for SNL
Dakota Johnson headlined the October 3 episode of “Saturday Night Live” with rock band Turnstile as the musical guest. It was her third time hosting, and for this appearance, Taylor Swift also joined her in a surprise cameo. The afterparty soon followed, and photographs from her outing soon grabbed eyeballs.
One fashion page dedicated to the actress noted that the centrepiece of Johnson’s outfit was a YSL strapless sweetheart velvet mini dress, priced at $2,490. Left open, her coat revealed the plunging neckline underneath.
Over it, she wore a Dries Van Noten Ravik embellished velvet coat, listed at $900. Studded patterns ran along the sleeves and front panels. Together, the two velvet pieces created a rich, monochrome base for the actress who was celebrating her 37th birthday.
Her shoes were Aquazzura Love Affair Mesh 105 pumps, which featured a pointed style with an ankle strap. For accessories, the “Materialists” star carried a Silvia Gnecchi Miranda bag, which added texture with its woven gold body, silver chain handle, and metallic discs.
However, the standout accessory was her Jessica McCormack 0.90ct Diamond Golden Snake Ring, listed at $33,500. Her makeup and styling stayed relaxed. Loose, dark waves and a full fringe framed her face, and a soft pink lip and red manicure added a touch of colour.
Johnson’s weekend was busy beyond the afterparty. Her film “Verity” hit theaters on October 2. Directed by Michael Showalter, the thriller adapts Colleen Hoover’s 2018 novel and stars Johnson, Anne Hathaway, and Josh Hartnett.
