Japanese sportswear brand Asics has launched its Night Energy Collection, a tennis apparel and footwear range designed for evening play, ahead of the night sessions at Flushing Meadows, home of the US Open, according to a press release. It is the second edition after the line’s debut last year.
The collection draws on New York City after dark, in purple tones the brand calls ‘Faded Plum’ and ‘Seastorm’, with garments knitted from cationic yarn. The women’s and men’s ranges include jacquard tops, a skirt, shorts, a compression bra and accessories such as visors, caps, wristbands and socks, priced from 12 to 85 euros. The apparel uses Asics’ Actimotion technology for targeted flexibility and Actibreeze for breathability and cooling.
On the footwear side, the collection follows Asics’ Playing Styles approach, split between stability and speed. The Gel-Resolution X Night Energy is the stability model, while the Solution Speed FF 4 Night Energy is built for speed; each costs 160 euros. Asics athletes will wear the collection during night sessions.
“The extra stability and comfort from the Gel-Resolution X Night Energy keep me feeling grounded and balanced through every rally,” said Asics athlete and professional tennis player Taylor Fritz. Martina Jurcova, head of global tennis apparel and accessories at Asics, said the second collection blends performance with design details that reflect movement, and is intended to make evening tennis a refresh for body and mind.
The Night Energy Collection is available now online and at selected Asics stores worldwide.
