In 2024, British knitwear and ready-to-wear label Hades released its first collaborative capsule collection with famed actress Tilda Swinton. Now the punk-tinged, counterculture-inspired brand’s cofounders and sisters Cassie and Isabel Holland have released the second act to their Tilda Swinton x Hades line with a six-piece capsule titled “Notes From the Precipice.”
“Tilda, who calls Scotland home, began as a customer of Hades before reaching out to us directly. A correspondence turned into a collaboration, with months of back-and-forth to finalize the designs and creative imagery,” the duo told WWD of their initial collaboration process. From there, Swinton traveled to Hades’ manufacturing factory in Scotland to meet with the craftspeople who created the knitted styles across both collaborative capsules.
“We were thrilled people embraced the eccentricity of the first collection — scissors, hands and weird and wonderful slogans,” the duo said of the impetus for collaborating with Swinton again.

“She champions the strange and encourages curiosity in a way that propelled our creative endeavors across Hades; it was I think inevitable that we would come together once again to craft more pieces,” they added. “Tilda’s interests and her own cultural creations across avant-garde art, film and activism are broad and offer ample inspiration for us as designers.”
While their first collaboration celebrated Swinton’s filmography, the second pushes it in a new direction, with pieces designed to evoke an “exploration of the times we are living in,” they said.
The capsule directly pays tribute to Swinton’s wisdom and words, as seen through the 100 percent cotton skirts and dress featuring the screen-printed text, in eco-friendly water-based ink, excerpted from her poem “Notes For Radical Living,” and 2025 Berlinale speech. The duo noted that Swinton herself suggested the designs for the knitted frock and skirt, which were constructed by the craftspeople the actress met in Hawick, Scotland, in 2024.

In addition, the capsule features 100 percent cotton, light and loose-fitting jumpers with a “Make Friends With Chaos” slogan alongside new slogan-adorned, colorful, ruffle-trimmed handbags in deadstock fabric.
“The spirit of Hades is a beautiful thing: vivacious and witty and enthusiastically countercultural, while simultaneously dedicated to the highest possible quality of traditionally made artisanal pieces in the heart of the Scottish Borders, my familial home,” Swinton said in a statement. “It has been my sincere pleasure to come to know Cassie and Isabel and to have been asked to play with them in this happy work. I see for them an ever-brighter horizon ahead and it is my honor to call them colleagues.”
The Tilda Swinton x Hades capsule, priced $237 to $677, is available to shop exclusively via the brand’s e-commerce and at its weekend pop-up in Soho, London, running Thursday to Monday.
