WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada — Upholstered furniture manufacturer Palliser introduced its new studio concept to 40 retailers in the U.S. and Canada.
Situated inside retail partners, the store-in-store concept offers a large footprint which varies by location, between 3,000 to more than 14,000 square feet of dedicated Palliser space. Palliser Studios include a curated product offering with nearly limitless configuration options, cover choices, leg finishes and accessories.
“We are quite excited to have hit this milestone with our new Studio initiative,” said Peter Tielmann, Palliser president and CEO. “Our retail partners have trusted us with a significant amount of floor space within these new locations, and we’re eager to deliver positive results and showcase the interactive tools and enhanced experience our studio concept provides.”
Exclusive to Palliser Studios, consumers can configure a sectional, sofa, bed or chair and visualize all options, accessories and cover choices using the Palliser Interactive Designer: a one-of-a-kind touch screen incorporating 3D modelling technology, live pricing, and endless product details, helping to create a frictionless shopping experience for both the sales associate and customer.
“Purchasing furniture can be daunting for some consumers. Giving the right amount of choice while enhancing the buying process is a key differentiator for Palliser,” said Tielmann.
At the heart of each Studio is the Design Center featuring the Palliser ID, as well as large scale fabric and leather swatches in light oak millwork. Both are aimed at assisting the sales associates and the consumer in the decision process of marrying the right frame and cover combination.
“Offering too many options or not enough can be a balancing act at times,” said Tielmann, “but our motivation remains: inspire customers to create what is unique to their style and space.”
With a target of opening 100 Palliser Studios this year across Canada and the U.S., results thus far have been positive. Every new Studio retailer is experiencing year-over-year growth with Palliser, at an average rate of 49%.
