All eyes were on Lily James when she stepped out in a completely sheer dress on Thursday, November 5.
The Pride and Prejudice actress, 37, looked incredible as she proved the A-list’s love affair with ‘naked’ dressing shows no signs of disappearing.
Lily was pictured in Union Square, NYC, wearing a long-sleeved black dress that exposed her matching black lingerie and trim physique.
The sheer fabric featured intricate embroidery across the chest, highlighting Lily’s triangle bra, which she paired with high-waisted underwear.
Completing her look, the actress added sheer black knee-length stockings, pointed-toe stilettos, and a black handbag with gold hardware.
Lily previously revealed that she “has to feel confident in what she’s wearing,” and her latest look left no room for shyness.
“I work with my stylist, Rebecca Corbin Murray, to find an outfit that looks and feels right,” she previously told Elle.
“It really is a strong feeling as soon as I put the right outfit on. We’ve worked together for a lot of time, so there’s a great synergy between us.”
She added: “I have to feel confident in what I’m wearing, and if I don’t, I feel so nervous, and I can’t walk out the door.”
Return to the spotlight
Lily recently revealed she was “beyond burned out” before she took a break from acting after working consistently since she was 21.
To recharge, Lily embarked on an eight-month solo adventure in Cambodia to take “the reins back of my life.”
“I’ve worked pretty consistently since I was 21, and I was beginning to just feel so even beyond burned out,” she told Flaunt magazine.
“I was scared I was losing the joy and losing that kind of fire. I really had to be honest with myself.”
She continued: “I’ve had an incredible time [going on] different kinds of adventures, owning my time, and taking the reins back of my life.
“You have to recharge. I think going from one job to the next, not only was I feeling like I wasn’t recharging or finding new sources of inspiration, but also blink, and you’ve missed a year.”
Lily’s trip worked, as she admitted that since her return, she has rediscovered her “love” for acting.
“I’m kind of in this moment of shape-shifting back into work, and it feels a little uncomfortable. But I’ve also found love again,” she explained.
“It’s reminded me how much I love acting and finding a character, storytelling, and that stuff. So it’s a relief.”
