Emily Ratajkowski wore a red-and-black dress by George Trochopoulos, with The Celeb Style Radar identifying the piece as a design from the label’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection. The Trochopoulos look featured a knitted construction that subtly turned sheer in places, allowing the contrasting red and black pattern to take center stage.
However, the biggest statement came from the enormous cutouts. The dress featured an extremely narrow panel of fabric running down the front, while massive openings swept around both sides of her torso and continued toward her hips. From the back, the design was similarly daring, leaving almost her entire back exposed before reconnecting with the fitted skirt.
The sheer dress’s cutouts created an hourglass effect, with the fabric pulling inward at the waist before expanding into the floor-length skirt. The open-knit pattern also gradually transitioned from bold red at the top to black toward the bottom.
Ratajkowski kept the rest of the styling relatively simple. She wore her long brown hair straight with a center part and opted for smoky eye makeup, defined lashes, and glossy nude lips. Diamond stud earrings added a subtle touch of sparkle. She also showed off her unique manicure that featured different symbols.
In her Instagram caption, the model joked that she attended the VMAs as a “groupie,” tagging Romain Gavras, Surkin, and Yung Lean and adding that she “had the best time”. The look ultimately delivered plenty of drama, with its sheer knit, bold color palette, and barely-there design.
