Princess Rajwa turned 32 on 28 April, and a new portrait was released by the Royal Hashemite Court on Wednesday to mark the occasion.
The wife of Crown Prince Hussein posed in a cinched black blazer by Gabriela Hearst, which had been wrapped at the waist and secured with an unusual feature – two skinny brown belts. She also wore a black skirt underneath that covered her knees.
Meanwhile, her makeup look was comprised of a rosy matte lip, apricot-hued cheeks and subtly smoky eyes.
“This birthday portrait is a lesson in controlled minimalism,” Oriona Robb, a luxury stylist with over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, tells us. “The all-black tailoring is clean and incredibly refined, but it’s the double belt detail that quietly transforms the look. Rather than feeling purely classic, the belt introduces shape and a modern edge, it carves out the waist, adds visual interest, and gives the outfit a more directional, fashion-forward finish without overpowering the simplicity.
What’s particularly effective is the restraint. The belts are slim, tonal and precisely placed, so they enhance rather than interrupt the silhouette. It creates a subtle layering effect that draws the eye inward, elongating the frame and adding structure to what could otherwise feel quite pared-back.”
The double belt is certainly a statement look and one that fans of Rajwa’s fashion can rock. Oriona has shared her tips for nailing the look…
- Keep it refined – opt for slim, minimal belts rather than anything bulky or overly embellished.
- Work with tailoring – double belts look strongest over blazers, coats or structured dresses where they can define shape.
- Stay tonal – matching or closely coordinated colours keep the look polished and intentional.
- Use it to sculpt – place belts at the natural waist to create definition and balance proportions.
- Avoid over-accessorising – let the belt detail be the focal point by keeping jewellery and extras minimal.
Celebrating with family
The portrait came after Rajwa appeared in a new photo alongside her husband and their one-year-old daughter, Princess Iman on her birthday. “Every day with you is a blessing. Happy birthday to my beloved wife,” Hussein captioned the photo, which saw him kissing little Iman, who was being held by her mother, on the cheek.
Rajwa looked quietly elegant in her chosen look. Identified by Royal Fashion Police, the royal chose the ‘Embroidered lace-trimmed organic silk-georgette blouse’, French luxury fashion house Chloe, which costs £1,330. The cut-out number featured an elegant high collarless neckline and open sleeves for a bohemian look.
Her hair was the true star of the show. It was styled in a beautiful hybrid between a bubble ponytail and a French plait that cascaded down her back. The look was so lovely that her daughter was dressed in the mini-me version from the same brand.
